- Does the footer name a company?
The footer of the webpage must contain the company name and address. No name means no game for you.

You must locate the company through the regulator's website or use the regulator's validator.
- Do the details match?
The information provided on the regulator's page must match the information provided on the company webpage.

- Is Nigeria allowed in the terms?
Locate and review the casino's restricted country list.
- Can you withdraw a small amount?
It is advisable that you review the casino's payout and withdrawal policies, as well as the game lobby and offers, prior to depositing money. The first cash out test is the best way to test if a casino is legit.
Look-alike domains and numbered mirrors
What we found on Google Nigeria and from a Nigerian connection, 25 September 2026.
| Brand | Domain the licence names | What else we found |
|---|---|---|
| OreonBet | oreonbet.com | oreonbetscasino.com, ranking fifth in Google Nigeria for "oreonbet casino review" |
| Bitguruz | bitguruz.com | Trustpilot pages for bitguruzcasino and casino-bitguruz domains |
| Megapari | Not named | megapari.com sent us to 4584212mp.pro, with no operator or licence number |
| Jack.com | jack.com | A "mirrors" page at jackmirrors.com |
Being identical or having the same appearance does not guarantee a scam or a fake. Same goes for their reflections. You cannot determine legality based on an address. A deposit proteced by law does not exist for unlicensed bookmakers. Because of this, Megapari has been removed from our lists and we will be reviewing Betwinner’s Nigerian branch instead.
Licence badges that prove nothing, and ones that do
A badge is a picture. The regulator's page is the proof.
- An inspection seal that takes you to the casino. In the case of Winna Casino, the seal found in the footer states that the casino is licensed in Canada, and the license is legitimate. However, the Tobique Gaming Commission gives more information about the license.
- An inspection seal that doesn't match the footer. In the case of Bitguruz, their validator states that the website is legitimate, but the address given is 9 Barrack Road, Belize City. Bitguruz’s footer states that the address is 2118 Guava Street.
- A seal that links to the regulator’s website. Both Thrill and Bitguruz have a seal that links to the Anjouan Validator, and provides the name of the company, as well as the domain.
- An entry in a regulator’s list. The Nevis Online Gaming Authority and the Lagos LSLGA provide a complete copy of their list of licenses.
Our article on Lagos Gaming Licenses gives information on how to access the LSLGA’s registrar.
When a crypto casino contradicts itself
Real examples from casino home pages and terms.
None of these makes a casino fake on its own. They tell you the marketing is written loosely, so the terms are the only text to trust. Any promise that you cannot lose is wrong by definition: every casino game has a house edge. Our reviews of Bitguruz and OreonBet set each claim against the terms.
How to check if an online casino is real
The condensed version of our deposit warning.
Company, licence number, regulator's page, same domain. If all four line up, the casino is real in the sense that someone licensed and accountable runs it. Whether it is good is a different question: speed of payouts, fair terms and limit tools. Our Litecoin casinos ranking and new crypto casinos page score casinos on exactly those points, and is crypto gambling legal in Nigeria explains what a foreign licence does and does not give you.
If you think a casino has scammed you
Act fast, and watch for a second scam.
- Stop depositing
Do not send more to "unlock" a balance or pay a "withdrawal fee" that appears from nowhere.
- Save the evidence
Screenshots of your account balance, transaction receipts, messages and chats with the customer support agent are some of the documents you should send to the regulator. Residents of Lagos, should also contact the local government (Lagos State) at lslga.org/contact.
- Report it
To the regulator whose licence the site claims, and for a site operating in Lagos, to the LSLGA at lslga.org/contact.
- Ignore recovery offers
Once your funds have been scammed, there is nothing that can be done to get your funds back. There are countless scammers that are preying on the gambling community. Most of these scammers charge an upfront fee and promise to get your funds back.
What the law says
Since a Supreme Court ruling of 22 November 2024, each state licenses gambling within its borders. Crypto is legal and regulated by the SEC. A casino licensed abroad is not licensed by any Nigerian state, and our reviews say which kind each casino is.
Check before you play
Lagos law makes promoting unlicensed gaming an offence, and the Lagos authority publishes a list of operators it calls illegal; none of them appear on this site. Check that playing is lawful where you live. Our guide is crypto gambling legal in Nigeria explains the rules.
Fake crypto casinos: common questions
Check the footer or terms to find the company name and licence number. Confirm the company is legit by searching for it on the regulator’s site. Make sure you’re on the site the regulator’s list says is legit. Deposit and withdraw money before betting to be safe.
Some brands run official mirrors, but a mirror means you cannot confirm from the address alone that you are on the real site. On 25 September 2026, megapari.com sent visitors from Nigeria to a numbered mirror, 4584212mp.pro, that named no operator and no licence number. We do not list sites like that.
A domain that copies a real casino's name with a small change, such as an extra word or a different ending. On 25 September 2026, oreonbetscasino.com ranked in Google Nigeria for OreonBet, whose licensed domain is oreonbet.com, and Trustpilot pages existed for bitguruzcasino and casino-bitguruz domains while the Bitguruz licence validator lists only bitguruz.com.
Only report and document the transaction, and contact the regulatory body for further action.
