Warning signs of problem gambling
If two or more of these signs are shown, you may have a gambling problem.

- If you find yourself spending money that should be used for other things (i.e. paying bills, buying food, savings, etc), you may have a gambling problem.
- Borrowing to gamble, or selling things to fund it.
- Hiding it: lying about how much or how often you play.
- Playing longer than you meant to, or late into the night.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.

Why crypto gambling needs extra care
Three things that make it faster to lose track.
Money sent via Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency can’t be reversed. Also, the price of coins changes while you are playing, so you may not be aware of how much you’re actually losing. Be sure to keep track of how much you’re spending in naira and set a spending limit for yourself. To see the exchange rate between naira and Litecoin visit our Litecoin to naira guide.
Limit and self-exclusion tools at each casino
For more information on responsible gaming, visit the casino's website.
| Casino | What you can set |
|---|---|
| BitStarz | Deposit, loss, wager and session limits and self-exclusion, in the account. Lowering a limit works at once; loosening it takes a day. |
| Roobet | Deposit, loss and wager limits and self-exclusion, in the account. |
| BC.Game | Self-exclusion in two steps: a 24-hour cooldown, then one day, a week, a month, six months or permanently. |
| Betwinner | Limits and self-exclusion, set through support. |
| Winna | Self-exclusion and cool-off periods through support; no deposit limit you can set yourself. |
| Thrill | No deposit-limit tools; self-exclusion for 1 to 180 days through live chat or e-mail. |
| OreonBet | A deposit limit that "may not fully apply to cryptocurrencies". |
| Bets.io | No limit tools described; two pages describe self-exclusion differently. |
You can limit how much money you can spend or how long you can gamble, by setting limits on your account. If a casino does not have limits, you need to set a budget and use external resources, described above, to assist you.

What the law says
Since a Supreme Court ruling of 22 November 2024, each state licenses gambling within its borders. Crypto is legal and regulated by the SEC. A casino licensed abroad is not licensed by any Nigerian state, and our reviews say which kind each casino is.
Check before you play
Lagos law makes promoting unlicensed gaming an offence, and the Lagos authority publishes a list of operators it calls illegal; none of them appear on this site. Check that playing is lawful where you live. Our guide is crypto gambling legal in Nigeria explains the rules.
